Unhappy Problem in compiling Binutils-2.20.1-Pass 1

I started on with building the LFS system using LFS-6.7 and ubuntu 10.04 LTS as the host.
After untarring the package Binutils-2.20.1.tar.bz2 I made a dedicated build directory for installing it.
cd into the build directory and then configured the package in chapter 5.4.1
Till then everything was good but after giving the make command following was shown as error.

make[3]: *** [bfd.info] Error 1

make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd/doc'
Making info in po

make[3]: Entering directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd/po'

make[3]: Nothing to be done for `info'.

make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd/po'

make[3]: Entering directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd'

make[3]: Nothing to be done for `info-am'.

make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd'

make[2]: *** [info-recursive] Error 1

make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/bfd'

make[1]: *** [all-bfd] Error 2

make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build'

make: *** [all] Error 2

Please suggest a remedy asap.

Hi rkmv,

You posted the concluding error lines, not the actual error(s), which are shown before the make[3]: *** [bfd.info] Error 1 line. Can you post the 5 - 10 lines before the make[3]: *** [bfd.info] Error 1 error line?

BTW: Without the appropriate info I would guess you are missing texinfo (makeinfo) on your host.

Hope this helps.

PS: Although the current LFS 7.0 is more up-to-date, you can still build LFS 6.7 if you want/need to.
