possible error in blfs 8.0 book (ed and lzip)

So I may have found an error in the BLFS 8.0 (stable) book.

Part 1. The link for the source for "ed" (a line editor) in the BLFS 8.0 stable book is a 404. I ended up going to https://www.gnu.org/software/ed/ed.html to find it. Of interest: the book mentions a 1.14.1 version yet there appears to be none. The jump is from a 1.13 to 1.14.2 version.

Part 2. The ed source now has a .lz extension. tar in a BLFS 8.0 system will fail to untar this file. It looks like lzip needs to be installed. Lzip is not as part of a stock LFS system.

Part 3a. Compilation instructions and a link for lzip are not in the book.

Part 3b. It seems that lzip could be considered as a required dependency for ed?

In the mean time, time for me to make a lfs slackbuild for lzip

In case of issues about BLFS, I suggest to first check whether they have already been fixed in the development version of the book. And in this case they have been fixed, see this page. And if the issue is still opened, it will have better chances to be sorted out posting in the proper mailing list, as not all devs read this forum, I presume.

The ed page has:

Required to uncompress the tarball

libarchive-3.2.2 (for bsdtar)

(bsdtar can extract lzip just fine). As for the link, it's invalid, yes. Boo, ed devs.

Instead of whining here, which helps nobody, report bugs or issues where appropriate.

If no one does that the bugs or issues will probably remain forever.
