Sorry, but how hard can it be to compare your output and that described in the book?

I'm not going to spend any more time on this issue. It seems to me that you don't like/want to read, don't take advise and find things mentioned in the book "a bit stupid". Definitely not a good way to start building LFS and a sure recipe for a none working end result.

Good luck with your LFS build.

Hi Blackbird,

you might want to search this forum for host related problems. You will see that almost all host problems are related to Ubuntu. Ubuntu is an absolute catastrophe when it comes to building LFS. I personally have given up advising people who insist on keeping Ubuntu as host. You can take the good advice given by druuna or most certainly fail to build LFS.
Again, do not use Ubuntu. Use the liveCD. It will save you a lot of time and trouble. I know what I am talking about.
