Patch file name differences

Hi,

I'm working my way through this and try not to think like an MCSE... but man it's weird.

My question is a difference I noticed between the documentation and what I have on my RH 8 system.

I downloaded the one big tar and extracted everything fine. But as I try to run certain sections that deal with patches, I noticed that the file names are not the same.

For instance
Code:
patch -Np1 -i ../findutils-4.1.patch &&
is mentioned in the docs, but on my machine the file is "findutils_41patch" after I have bunzip2'd it.

Is this correct? Am I not unzipping it correctly? This is the command I am following
Code:
bunzip2 findutils_41patch.bz2
I realize I can just modify the filename in the command, but I'm just worried I'm making a simple mistake.

OT - I have learned so much from this. Thank you very much to all those involved in creating this document to follow.

I noticed that too when I downloaded the tar archive, but I thought that I did something wrong (I made an iso of it).

anywase, it works just the same, you can do

patch -np1 -i ../findutils*patch

if there's only one.
