Create own distro

I've already heard about Lfs and Gentoo.
But how can I create my own installable distribution?
With Insall Cd, own configuration programs, etc.
I know that this is a really big work, and i'm a newbei, but how can I do this?
Or, please recommend me a distro, that is as powerfull as Slackware, as simple as Mandrake, and (maybe like Redhat) supports the universal places of config files (init, rc.d, ...).
So, please write something!!
Bye-bye!

you need to refer this post to distro's from scratch under the forum distro's look at the forum jump. general is not the place for the question.

thank you,
wolfe

RE:Create own distro

Hello,

If you want a powerful one, use the KNOPPIX.
It's a boot-cd, with a Gnu/Linux system !!! and a lot of useful softs.

On the KNOPPIX page, you have a re-mastering and a customization how-to ....

The new version use the new kernel 2.6 and the hardware detection is very good.

I recommend you use the distro, try and maybe you'll modify it for your own or for the community.

I think it'll be hard to customize/re-master without any experience.
