Open Compressed file in LFS Live CD ?

hi, I am new to linux.

when I change root to LFS, I can't see the src package in LFS CD. so I try to mount cdrom in new LFS root. but I can't see anywhere [mounted cd]/usr/src/packages. I tough it might be compressed in one file anyone know how to access/uncompressed/... the packages ?
BTW I used LFS 6.0

The files are located in the /sources in the root

yes, a bit confusing, that you do not gett straight to /root after booting liveCD. You have to cd .. and there they are /sources.

I used the Using LFS Live CD hint from the LFS website, it eased the job much. And I am a LFS newbie too so I like to startx to get XFCE running. So I can unpack new sources while previous are being compiled and read LFS book with Firefox at the same time :)
