Well if you do break it, so what? You can always build it again can't you, and you will have learnt valuable lessons the second time around. Most LFS-ers will have built several times, each time improving on the last. Its an iterative process imho.

Don't look at your LFS as some fragile thing - you want to learn right? Sometimes that means breaking things!
