network problems

I just finished installing LFS and have expected network problems. I really was unsure what to put in /etc/hosts /etc/sysconfig/network and ifconfig.eth0 and now when I boot the system

I get the message:

Bringing up eth0 interface
/etc/sysconfig/network-devices/ifup ifconfig command not found.

bringing up default gateway
/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S20Network route command not found

I have gone back and looked at the files but I dont know whats going on anyways so maybe someone can help I have a network card hooked up t a cisco router and have to set my machine up as a dhcp client
thank you.

'ifconfig' and 'route' are not present on your system, which means something went wrong during the net-tools installation.

Reinstall that package and try again.
