make install by root or lfs?

Hi! I decided to try to build my own linux and I have a question: after compiling a package, should I install it as lfs(the user I created according to the book) or I'm supposed to be root (as I would normally do on my system)?

Thanks

user:lfs should have ownership of the sources and tools directory......
so do the "make install" command as lfs.......when you get to chapter
six you will "chroot" into the lfs environment and install the rest of the
directories/packages as root...............have fun
