It has been my experience that there are many and that they all fail to compile.
Tried and failed (despite several methods, including editing the source directly, using slackbuilds, sym-linking like a mofo):
gnumeric
sc
sprsht
oleo
xpread
slsc
I am aware that libreoffice & open office both have a spreadsheet included but I'd rather not have to install of that of that mess just for the spreadsheet. it's kind of like purchasing a car just to sit and listen to its radio. I want just the radio.
I should also mention that it compiled without perl support. I was unable to fix the perl aspect. It also failed to compile with --enable-introspection=yes. In addition, pdf support is absent. However, I am not a spreadsheet expert and only use it occasionally. So the missing pieces don't bother me.
Maybe I didn't make it clear. I followed the book. I installed those dependencies and cut and paste the instructions. The problem was in the link stage. Something about the gobject shared library it didn't like. Anyway, I ended up using the default compile options which is without introspection.
