Linux From Scratch ( Multiple Questions )

Any one tied out LFS (Linux From Scratch). Am having a problem with the same. Everytime I try it out it keeps on giving the same problem. It all startz at lets say at chapter 6. Am not able to create the /etc/mtab syslink & enter the chroot'ed env after creating the $LFS/root/.bash_profile. As mentioned in the docu. the system thinks the new LFS root created is the main root. Hence it does not find any commands etc. Have tried it a couple of times with the same result.

What am i doing wrong.?

I haven't had the time to do a LFS system, but Under the Distributions Section, there is a sub-section called Linux From Scratch, and if you post your question there, you will probably get a faster reply.

I don't know if it is the same problem, but when i had to chroot, i had to use /sbin/chroot when i was at that step for some reason

or maybe the $PATH settings are not correct (in file $LFS/root/.bash_profile?

/bin: /sbin: /usr/bin: /usr/sbin:
