lfs5.1.1 cannot find -lc collect2,returning 1 exit status
 

hi guys,
i am doing my final year peoject and developing a linux distribution.maybe some of u also know me.i am implementing presently the base system using lfs-5.1.1 with host as red hat linux 9.
i am done with the phase 1 where in i have compiled and installed pass1 of the required packages like binutils,gcc,glibc.
but when i try to compile the dummy.c program
dummy.c
int main()
{}

it gives me error
******************* cannot find -lc collect2;returning exit status 1


can ne1 help me on this.
also i am a comparitively new to linux so ne other sort of help or resources for it will be appreciated.
