LFS on VMWare - SCSI or IDE?

Building an LFS 7 and using VMWare Player running CentOS 32bit for my host OS (LFS Host). When creating a new HDD that will run , does it matter if I use SCSI or IDE?

I notice the documentation tends to favor /dev/hdb, while the default in VMWare would be a SCSI drive.

Does this matter? It will be a week till I get to the point of booting the compiled box, hoping I don't run into problems then.

Hi,

It doesn't really matter which you choose.

SCSI (sdX) seems to be the default choice at the moment, but IDE (hdX) can also be used.

You do need to make sure/set the correct options once you get to Installation/Configuration of the kernel.

If still in doubt: Use SCSI

Hope this helps.
