LFS LiveCD doesn't detect my SATA drive

Hi,

Didn't seem to find the solution on this forum yet:
My SATA drive isn't detected when I boot the LiveCD.
dmesg shows me some errors like:

Code:
sda:<4>ata0: error occured, port reset
ata1: status=0x01 { Error }
and
Code:
end_request: I/O error on device sda, logical block 0
I'm trying the LiveCD 'cause my FC6 en SW systems give me the famous 'yylex'-error when trying to compile binutils.

Thnx in advance

It seems i'm getting a
Code:
kernel: hda: drive_cmd: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
A problem I also have with other LiveCD's. Is my harddrive broken? Does anyone see a solution?
Thnks

I think this has something to do with scsi and sata.

I will often get a livecd seeing my drives as /dev/hda /dev/hdc for example.

But, upon kernel configuration and subsequent reboot they appear as /dev/sda /dev/sdb.

I haven't found any good documentation as to exactly why this happens, just that it does and it occurs on kernel configuration centering around scsi devices.

Though my system has a couple of scsi (though software scsi style) hard disk controllers (promise).
