i what to have minimum install of LFS

I want to use a computer for my car that will only play music and maybe some video files

The actual LFS book sets up a linux distro thats about as small as you can get without some serious work. Once your done LFS, you'll have a JUST functional machine. You can then use "Beyond LFS" to add extras.

I dont think you will need to strip down LFS any more than it is for that particular project.

i wouldnt be so sure, actually there are lots of ways of cuting size, but i think that the defacto LFS, with the streeped debugging and without some pkgs that you might not want will do the job...

Anyway i recommend you to look at www.distrowatch.com there are real minimal distros, and with a bit of modificiation you could easily add sound and players support.
