KDE or Gnome on top of LFS?

Is this even possible? I know the Live CD has LXDE but more interested in a KDE environment.
Anyone has done this before that can help me out a little bit?

Hi. Thanks. I always thought it required all the 362 packages I experienced from installing arch.
Like 1GB.

I might not understand what you are trying to say, but many, many packages are installed if you build KDE.
Did you have a look at the KDE sections in the BLFS book (BLFS (svn) - KDE)?

Just one example: KDE libs -> Have a look at the bottom of the page, the Contents part. And that is just the kdelibs package.....

Hope this clears things up a bit.
