You can just call me a "lazy so and so" for this, but after reading through some of the instructions, it's as if I am preparing to construct my own mechanized device that requires oodles of study time. With Linux as the focus that could be avoided if the basic iso was available to be downloaded.

Some say that if you install slackware only with the few basic directories, thats about the same.. And slackwre has ISO:s available.. The software packages would be like: A, D, (K), L.. More on that: http://www.slackware.com/install/softwaresets.php

There's a bootable iso of LFS available, created by Jeremy Huntwork. This is suitable for use as a host system, avoiding the need to have a linux installation on your computer. More info on this iso image is available at:

This iso was also included as part of the printed LFS 6.0 book.
