installing X, follow their specs under blfs:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs
As far as windowmaker, I use:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --enable-xinerama --enable-modelock --with-pixmapdir=/usr/share/pixmaps --with-appspath=/usr/share/WindowMaker/GNUstep/Applications &&
make &&
make install
you probably don't need to add:
--with-pixmapdir=/usr/share/pixmaps --with-appspath=/usr/share/WindowMaker/GNUstep/Applications as they are tweaks I use to clean the system up...
Then to make it RUN, edit your .xinitrc file in your current user path:
Code:
echo wmaker > ~/.xinitrc
BTW this will overwrite your ~/.xinitrc file, so back it up if you already have one, or edit such that twm is replaced with wmaker. (which I believe twm is specified by LFS-6.0)
then type
startx (or restart X if you have already started it)
