Dual boot in Dell laptop Inspirion 8200

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Laptop, Inspirion 8200, P4 1.8GHz, CD-RW/DVD combo drive-Toshiba SDR2102 8x, 384 Mb RAM.

I'm trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.2 on WinXP. The Linux is available on 1 DVD disk. When I insert the disk it turns and make some noise for couple of times and then stops ending with no files displayed on the cd-rom. My cd-rom drive is working fine with other CDs and DVDs, the company I purchased the Linus disk from sent me another DVD disk and still the same proble.

I tried the DVD disk on a disktop and it's working fine but it's not working either on Compaq Laptop.

I tried to install firmware and update the BIOS from Dell web site. All this didn't solve the problem.

Please help if you have any suggestion.
