Just wondering if the instruction on this page http://lfs.cict.fr/blfs/view/blfs-bo...ml/x/xfce.html will work on the lfs 6.4 version. I've looked but can't seem to find a good tutorial for 6.4 sorry just noticed I misspelled xfce

Most likely, but you won't know until you try . Of course you'll have an older version of XFCE. The latest release is 4.6. I haven't, yet, built 4.6, but the 4.4 series would build with the same instructions in the link you provided.
I've had this problem for a couple of days now.When I try to install libxfcegui4.6 I get this error
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for pkg-config >= 0.9.0... 0.22
checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.10.0... not found
*** The required package gtk+-2.0 was not found on your system.
*** Please install gtk+-2.0 (atleast version 2.10.0) or adjust
*** the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
*** installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that
*** pkg-config is able to find it.
but my pkgconfig is at /usr/lib/pkgconfig with Glib in it
prefix=/usr
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib
includedir=${prefix}/include
I was just looking at that and it seems that I have to have x windows installed before I can install Cairo a required dependency of GTK+. I'm a little bit confused of starting the xorg install,not excatly sure how wget works. But here goes lol
Er, yes, you will need Xorg if you want to run Xfce, or GNOME, or KDE, or even just a simple window manager. Thought you had installed it since you were already building Xfce (which can't do much on its own without a working X Window System).
In any case, good luck. It will take some time - Xorg is one of the larger and more complex BLFS packages, and is split into many different "modules," though not all of them are actually required, per se. Let us know if you get stuck.
