Info : not good to BLFS in chroot ...
Hello !
Just a silly error I made, so I post here so that other people won't have the same problem ... I completed the 6.2 LFS with no problem on my Ubuntu host (some tweaks compared to LFS LiveCD, but nothing serious) and then wanted to go on with BLFS ... I found it was somewhat a good idea to build it in my chrooted system, so my Ubuntu would be available to kill time during builds ... This is not a good idea ... In fact, ldconfig won't give the good result if run in chrooted environment ... So I had broken deps ... (this is only my guess, but I'm pretty confident) I'm starting LFS again (LFS takes me 2 days, so it's not so much) and I'll install nothing but the blfs bootscripts and download the dhcpcd on host, then reboot on LFS to build BLFS ... Hope this will save some time to others ;) Regards, Biniou |
You messed something up. You can continue to build in the chroot after you're finished with (C)LFS without problems.

I found out where I messed up ... I used a script to enter chroot environment, which was made to use after chapter 6 is completed (and I was in the middle of chapter 6) ... It won't give errors on the go, but you'll find missing deps later on ... I altered the script to meet my needs, so hopefully I won't face the problem again ...
