Building an LFS system is NOT creating a new distro, if by that you mean you want a distributable system that will work/install on a number of different machines, that will take a lot of time and effort and from you above posts you don't yet have the necessary basic knowledge so start small and work your way up. If you run into a specific problem then feel free to ask for help but asking for help for some vague generalized question like "I want to build my own distro" wont get you very far. |
Think of it this way...
LFS gives you the start of what you can use to create your own system. Things like build scripts, package managers, and repository synchronization tools then become your responsibility to keep packages up to date, resolve issues, and control revisions of builds to truly make the system your work. Things like patches and security updates will need to be handled by you. If you want a place to learn to do all this, use Slackware for a few years and get some experience under your belt, then go for LFS or your own distribution. |
