Exclamation How to start KDE

I've installed Xorg and configured twm, and all works fine (not a nice look though) so...
installed kde and all works fine. Now lets start it apon bootup:
changed ~/.xinitrc with 'exec startkde and switch runlevel to 5 in /etc/inittab. and...
Still starting twm
I have even removed som startup stuffs from /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc

posibly a simple solution but how?

Thanks!

Thanks,

Kde is starting now I've changed the line
x:5:respawn:/usr/X11R6.... -nodeamon to
x:5:respawn:/usr/bin kdm

and kde is started... after!!!! twm (I can just se a bit of twm) (and its not in the processlist?)

well should kdm be started with a -nodaemon

Tanks

You shouldn't have to modify /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc, undo any changes you made and then add the following line to end of /etc/inittab

x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/kdm -nodaemon

and make sure the default run level is set to 5 by changing the line in inittab
from

id:3:initdefault:

to

id:5:initdefault:

KDM should then launch after the boot process completes.

Mad.
