Question How to set default userid?


Hi everybody,
I m creating customized OS from scratch in that under /etc/default/useradd we can able to set group id as our wish ie., 500 or 1000, like this how can i set for user id?...

Have a look at /etc/login.defs, the UID_MIN / UID_MAX settings. Manual Reference Pages - LOGIN.DEFS (5)

A word of warning: Not all entries present in login.defs might be used. If PAM is set up on your box some entries in login.defs will not be used the PAM settings will take precedence. Have a look here: (BLFS) Linux-PAM and (BLFS) Shadow
