I'm a newbie here. I'm looking for help from everyone experienced out there. Please give me some step by step solutions or any recommendations on any web sites, man-pages that could help. I appreciate for your kindness.


First of all, I wanted to ask how can I start to create a custom Linux installer in a CD-ROM? I'm using Mandrake. Once the CD-ROM is created, I wanted to add autoinstall.conf so that it'll automate the installation process.

I think its much like creating a custom CD-ROM distribution with as minimum as possible. I wanted to cut down all the packages unnecessary while only installing the packages enough to run my workstation.

LFS personally has provided us freedom in deciding the packages we wanted to install into our system. I just wanted to do that in a CD-ROM installer which based on Mandrake and hopefully everything will be installed and configured automatically by autoinstall.conf.
