How does one upgrade from one LFS version to another?

Just out of curiosity how does one upgrade the whole system?
Thanks

They have a live CD with the sources and an automagic script to do it. BLFS - you are on your own. But LFS is about doing it the hard way and you upgrade the hard way. HLFS is basically irrelevant I suspect. CLFS is also a way of getting linux onto the strangest of items.

Just start again on a new partition. If you get bored entering the commands by hand pick a language to learn and start writing scripts.

@Andrew Benton I know how to write bash scripts.. so doing this shouldn't be a problem, however is it possible to update the autotools without reinstalling the whole shebang again from scratch? How does other distributions such as Arch Linux or Gentoo achieve a rolling release?
