how do you delete software from lfs 6.4

I'm trying to install GTK+2.14.7 so I can install XFCE since i installed xorg but keep getting this error

checking for sys/shm.h... yes
checking X11/extensions/XShm.h... yes
checking for Xinerama support on XFree86... yes
checking Pango flags... configure: error:
*** Pango not found. Pango built with Cairo support is required
*** to build GTK+. See http://www.pango.org for Pango information.

Thought I would uninstall cairo, pango and gtk and reinstall them but how do you uninstall them.

You can simply re-install Pango. No need to remove it first, it'll overwrite the previous installation, given that you use the same --prefix on ./configure as before.
Make sure you include Cairo-support.

Also, for some packages, but not all, make uninstall might do the trick.

Reptiler is correct. But if you really need to remove that package for any reason, you can use one dirty trick. Configure and make the package the way it was installed. Than use
Code:
 make DESTDIR=/tmp/packagename install
Than you can check what files were installed and manually remove them. But this works only for some packages (with DESTDIR support) and generally cannot be recommended.

Does pkg-config --list-all show pango or cairo listed?
