Grub splashimage?

Has anyone been able to patch GRUB to enable splashimage support?

I tried, with no luck. Is it possible to use something like REDHats rpm of .93 thats is already patched?
Does GRUB 2 have splashimage support built in?

Hi michaelbhahn,
have a look at the GNU GRUB splashimage howto.
Very good instructions on how to patch your GRUB sources (the author is a debian user, you may need to be a little careful).
Also, the page has a script to detect if your GRUB is already capable of displaying splash images.

Good luck to you,

I tried that, but unfortunately was not able to get it to work on my system. I know there is a way, but i am not sure how to alter the scripts to get it running.

If anyone knows of, or how to alter, a patch let me know

"DJ Lucas" suggested that these (debian) sources were already patched and that they built cleanly on LFS.
Also, version .92 is supposed to build cleanly and work with the provided patch.
There is another thread on the lfs mailing list discussing this in great detail. They got it to work also, but again it boils down to using the debian sources (or working with them at least).

Good luck with that,
