hi, you seem to be having an awful time compiling each program. I'd recommend you take a bit more time to learn and experiment to find out why things are going wrong before posting each and every problem here.

acid: i feel the love but i think the best way to learn is to keep pluggin away hands on....:)

acid_kewpie 02-14-2002 08:42 AM

yeah i really don't wanna seem antagonistic or anything, cos you do seem to be learning shed loads which is cool. I just would've thought that a more hands on approach would actaully be to fiddle with things yourself rather than asking for help each time. Obviosuly that's only my opinion. I genuinely just find it's quicker to try and suss it yourself first, esp if it's a fairly obscure question like yours is.

i have zero LFS experience, but as for those sort of problems may well be related to perhaps an incorrect path to your aclocal macros. usually the macros are somewhere like /usr/share/aclocal, which i guess you should have an lfs install of rather than a mother hen one, i presume you'd need to define that path specifically somewhere.

well i thought one of my problems was the: export LFS=/mnt/lfs... i noticed when id bring up another terminal that $LFS wasnt set up on that particular terminal.. id do an echo $LFS and get nothing but would get the full path on the terminal where i worked origianlly... i thought that could have been the source of a lot of my problems but i set those right and still didnt work... i pride myself on learning things fairly quick but i am thinking i may be biting off more than i can chew... thanks for the help
