general question to chapter 6

Starting with 6.7 is it required to do the steps mentioned in chapter 5.3:

Quote:

Change to the sources directory.

For each package:

Using the tar program, extract the package to be built. In Chapter 5, ensure you are the lfs user when extracting the package.

Change to the directory created when the package was extracted.

Follow the book's instructions for building the package.

Change back to the sources directory.

Delete the extracted source directory unless instructed otherwise.

except that I will be root in this chapter?

That's correct. The basic build instructions are the same, whatever identity you are using. But you will find, if you compare the two chapters, that the specific instructions for particular packages are different. For example, some packages will be patched before being built in chapter 6, and the configure parameters will be different. Also packages in chapter 6 are built in a quite different order.
