GCC Pass 1 Compilation Error - ./a.out No such file or directory

Hi,
I am compiling GCC from LFS 8.4 and i get the the following error

/mnt/lfs/sources/gcc-8.2.0/libgomp/configure: line 3815: ./a.out: No such file or directory
configure:3817: $? = 127
configure:3824: error: in `/mnt/lfs/sources/gcc-8.2.0/build/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/libgomp':
configure:3828: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details.

Any help would be highly appreciated..

I am attaching the snippet of config.log file for reference.

Just out of curiosity, why are you using LFS 8.4?
