gcc 33 error


hi all of you there

i am compiling gcc3.3 on my redhat8.0 system

i compiled it correctly

but when doing make BOOT_LDFLAGS="-static bootstrap

it said the segmentation fault error in the try_color_web or something like that function and exited

plz help

Is there a reason you need gcc 3.3? The LFS FAQ mentions that gcc 3.3 should be avoided. In fact, this is a direct quote:

gcc-3.3: Don't use this yet unless you're a developer and can fix errors because it breaks many packages. If you are a developer, you may find Jim Gifford's patches useful. They're at http://www.jg555.com/projects/patches/ftpdownload/
