I've just started installing lfs 5.1.1, I need gcc but the gcc site only lists ftp downloads but I cant use ftp at an internet cafe. Any where I can get it through http?

instead of using ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gcc/gcc-3.3/gcc-core-3.3.tar.bz2 (or tar.gz, whatever you choose) you can try on your browser http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gcc/gcc-3.3/gcc-core-3.3.tar.bz2 (or gz)

by the way, there isn't any folder for gcc 3.3.3, it jumps from 3.3.2 to 3.3.4, my example can be modified to suit whatever version you want (e.g.: 3.4.2)

hope this helps

Julio
