Question Error invalid group 'root'

There have been several different times during my LFS install that I have gotten a message about invalid group 'root'. Does this mean I don't have a group named root? How do I fix that? Thanks. Here is one example:
#

/usr/bin/install -o root -g root -m 644 sysklogd.8 /usr/man/man8/sysklogd.8
/usr/bin/install: invalid group `root'
make: *** [install_man] Error 1
root:/usr/src/everything/sysklogd-1.4.1#

#

Thanks again

It can mean a few things, but usually it's because your /etc/group file is not present, or doesn't have the right syntax. I'd remove the file, recreate it, make sure all colons are in place.

That worked great, thanks! I viewed it first, I guess I was WAY tired, cause all I had was from 7 to 11 set. Strange. It's good to go now, thanks.
