Lightbulb error installing GCC +please help

hi,
i am trying to built a lfs system using mandrake 9.1 as base os.
while installing gcc, the following error occurs:

Hunk #1 FAILED at 4268.

Hunk #2 FAILED at 4343.

Hunk #3 FAILED at 4585.

3 out of 3 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file /mnt/mylinux/static/source/gcc-3.2.patch.rej

can't find file to patch at input line 74

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option

Can anybody help me, let me know what's wrong. I typed the same command sentence as written in the book. Plus before generating the error, it ask which file to patch. and when i write as

/mnt/lfs/static/source/... .patch , it produces the above error.

regards and anticipating reply from ur end.

saurav

I'm sorry I might be confused. What version of LFS are you installing? Looking at the 4.1 instruction book ( http://lfs.learnbyexample.com/view/4...ter06/gcc.html ) I don't see anywhere in the GCC install where they tell you to apply a patch... ??
