error in LFS


i am doing LFS,my distribution is suse linux,
i had downloaded the source file for linux-2.6.15.1.tar.bz2
started building. i am using host system tool chain
and i configured kernel using this

mallika:~/linux-2.6.15.1 # make menuconfig
HOSTCC scripts/basic/fixdep
/bin/sh: scripts/basic/fixdep: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [scripts/basic/fixdep] Error 1
make: *** [scripts_basic] Error 2


can any one tell me where is problem.

It sounds like you're using the Suse (host) toolchain instead of the LFS toolchain - is that correct? If so, you'll have problems with the compiled kernel. What happened when you ran the LFS kernel installation steps?
