Error in binutils

Hi, I am trying to build LFS using Ubuntu 5.04 as host system. But I do not reach far. When I try to compile the first package, binutils, it ends up with this error, after the make LDFLAGS="-all-static":

../../binutils-2.15.94.0.2.2/binutils/bucomm.c:425: warning: the use of `mktemp' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp'
arparse.o(.text+0xe): In function `yyerror':

arparse.o(.text+0x2c2): In function `yyparse':
/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/binutils/y.tab.c:519: undefined reference to `yy lex'
arparse.o(.text+0x4c3):/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/binutils/y.tab.c:301: und efined reference to `yylex'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [ar] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/binutils'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

make[1]: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/lfs/sources/binutils-build/binutils'
make: *** [all-binutils] Error 2

Please, can anybody please help me find out what is wrong?

Sorry, I did a search after posting here. Seems I should try install the bison or flex package, that might solve the problem. Although I thought that ./configure would complain if those packages were missing...
