Error Compiling Linux-2.4.26 Headers


my first problem installing this... im in chapter 5 trying to install the linux-2.4.26 headers. i typed this command

Code:
make include/linux/version.h
and got this

Code:
/bin/sh: line 1: .ver: Permission denied
make: *** [include/linux/version.h] Error 1
how do i fix this?

edit: oh yea im on knoppix if that matters

your /tools/ directory may have a permissions problem..........

yay i got it fixed the permissions were set wrong so i did a chown lfs /mnt/lfs/sources/* and that fixed it
