Didn't install "expect-5.43" by mistake - how big a problem is it?

In chapter 5 after you install 'expect' you then install 'dejaGNU' & then rebuild gcc, and in the gcc section there is the command:

expect -c "spawn ls"

But I got 'command not found' and tracing back the steps I took, it appears I had patched & built the package but somehow missed the "make test" and "make install" commands! - doh

So does anyone have any ideas on how to continue - I was going to go back to '5.9.1. Installation of Expect' and re-do all the commands but as I've already installed dejaGNU I don't know if that's such a good idea?

Thanks

Expect and DejaGNU are used by the test suite of various packages including gcc. If you don't install it, you can't run the test suite and risk a broken gcc which would, of course, lead to a broken OS. Just install expect. Doesn't matter that you've already installed DejaGNU.
