creating /etc/inputrc file in Chapter 7.7

hi all,

am now into Chapter 7.7 - Creating the /etc/inputrc file, am very confused here, what am i supposed to is the Paragraph,

To create the .inputrc in /etc/skel using the command below, change the command's output to /etc/skel/.inputrc and be sure to check/set permissions afterward. Copy that file to /etc/inputrc and the home directory of any user already existing on the system, including root, that needs a private version of the file. Be certain to use the -p parameter of cp to maintain permissions and be sure to change owner and group appropriately.

what would be the commands for these?...
i would be happy if anyone could help me out.....
thanks in advance........

with regards,

if you executed the command thats there to create /etc/inputrc
then as root
cp /etc/inputrc /etc/skel/.inputrc
then give one to already existing users first root
cp /etc/inputrc /root/.inputrc
then to other users
(change <user> to user name)
cp /etc/inputrc /home/<user>/.inputrc
chown <user> /home/<user>/.inputrc

i think modes and permissions will be ok
