Question Creating a Linux from Scratch installer?

I've read through most of the LFS website, and I love the idea. However, there's one thing I haven't been able to find the answer to.

Is there anyway to make a CD from LFS, so that I can easily install LFS to multiple computers? Basically what I want to do is build LFS on one computer, add all the packages I need, and then create a CD that uses an installer (like Anaconda) to install my LFS to other computers.

ALFS looks like it might work, but I need whatever I'm using to boot from a CD, and I don't see a way to do that with ALFS.

Can it be done? How would I do it? What installer could I use? I don't think Anaconda would work, but there must be one that would..

Thanks!

You still compile that manually.. or used already compiled packages, which defeats the purpose..

You know what I have been thinking about this myself recently. I would love to be able to take my current LFS and give it to friends of mine so that they can try out linux (yes, I am at the point where I have configured almost everything into an easy to use multimedia splendour). I will definitely check back if/when I figure this out myself.

Something like this?

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Install-From-ZIP-1.html#ss1.1

So hey...I just skimmed this but ... the media (CD not zip) makes no difference right? The concept is all that is necessary.

actually the following looks more promising

http://www.xs4all.nl/~lennartb/installdisk/node1.html

In fact while reading through the mission statement it mentions LFS! Rockin. This is exactly what I need.

Those look like they might work, thanks.
Let me know if you get either of them working

I dont know about you but I was unfamiliar with what a loopback device is...but I found the following link which makes it clear I think:

http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue77/.../loopback.html

It is very short and to the point. By using the installdisk link in my previous post this should be quite easy to do
