Crash at GRUB Loading

I'd tell ypu more or give you a log but there is none. I boot up my LFS distro in Virtualbox and it crashes into Guru meditation with only GRUB or GRUB Loading against black. I've reinstalled grub and double checked my config and it still won't boot

Did you install grub-bios or grub-efi? How large is the VHD? Did you use a boot partition?

This is not a direct answer. This is just my work around.

I always use grub on host OS. (I do "make install" grub but never "grub-install".)

There should be only 1 grub-install for the whole system. Or, if you're using a different OS, you can use it's boot loader. I've seen people try to grub-install the drive from the primary OS and then grub-install from from one of the others on to its specific partition. I've seen that work, but leaves a right mess and an invalid disk structure if it doesn't.

Best to just use the bootloader from the host and add a entry for the Linux.
