Clarification on grub usage

Hello, I have a multi boot system, windows and fedora, and i noticed that i can just add LFS to my menu.lst and bam good to go. However, is it required to install grub in ch6? Does it serve any purpose? If i do need to install grub, then i have questions. I have a dedicated /boot partition so i assume that i do not create one as written in ch6, so do i still copy the stage files since my other distro is already running grub?

Thanks

You dont need to install grub again if you already have it.
Just add the relevent section to your existing /boot/grub/menu.lst

No need to create another boot partition, just remember to put a /boot section in /etc/fstab (chapter 8.2)
