checking for GPGME pthread - version >= 1.1.8... no configure: error: Need GPGME_PTHREAD version 1.1.8 or later

So on the ./configure of two entirely different packages, I get the exact same failure:
Quote:
checking for GPGME pthread - version >= 1.1.8... no
configure: error: Need GPGME_PTHREAD version 1.1.8 or later
Googling is not much of a help: results that, aside from mentioning gpg, are devoid of content. But I have gpg installed.

I would like to find a way to have this failure stop occurring.

p.s. This is in my BLFS 8.0 system but honestly, I've compiled so many things not in the book that I am not sure if I should be posting in this LFS sub-board any more. Am I asking how to compile something in LFS, or am I just asking how to compile something?

It's not gnupg, but rather gpgme.

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...lfs/gpgme.html

Package contents list libgpgme-pthread.so, so maybe that's what you need?

Thank you.

p.s. Naturally, that won't compile. Not sure if it is because I have BLFS 8.0 instead of 8.1 or because there is a required dependency that the 8.1 book fails to mention. D'oh!
