Chapter 6.53 Tar-1.15.1 make check test #2 fails
build host: LFS livecd 6.2.5
book: 6.2
problem at: Chapter 6.53. Tar-1.15.1
Hello all,
When I run "make check" at the above location I get one unexpected error which is test #2 "decompressing from stdin" which returns "failed (pipe.at:50), the rest of the tests either pass, or are skipped.
Whats up?
I'm a LFS newbie, and most everything else has gone OK (if slow). Google hasn't provided any answers to this. Is it safe to continue? or is this a problem I need to fix?
Thanks,
-Brian

Well Brian,
I can't tell you how sad I am that no one has answered your question, but I just got the same error.
Oh well, I think I'll move on.
Bob
By the way, I'm using the Package User package managment system if that makes any differance.

Hello !
I googled your error and found this : https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+s...tar/+bug/25084 (I entered "failed (pipe.at:50)" in google)
So I guess it's not really critical ...

Thanks Biniou!
That's a releif. Well, with that I guess I better get back on the horse and finish my first lfs system. By the way, if anyone is thinking of doing the whole "User Package Managment" thing, I'd highly recommend it. Not only do you learn a lot but it's easy to back out any mistakes that you make while installing (Which I've had to do).
