To emphasize what spiky0011 said: That is wrong, you need to do those commands in chapter 6 as root user, which I already told you in post #4.......

You really need to follow the LFS book to the letter, if you deviate from it you will get into trouble.

It looks like the command
Code:
ln -sv /tools/bin/{bash,cat,echo,pwd,stty} /bin
from 6.6 did not execute correctly - it didn't for me, and I didn't notice it at first (copy paste warrior here).

I had the same problem as ffx77905. tyconnell`s reply fixed it. Turns out i had forgotten a / in the command from chapter 6.6 the first time around.
(This makes me somewhat worried at what other miniscule mishaps I`ve committed, alas. Onwards until this thing blows up in my face again!)
