Can I run LFS on a Linux box which currently serves as router & samba server?

This is my first trial. My linux box is CentOS. The pc now I'm using to post this question is behind my linux box.

I follow the Read-LFS-Online tightly, have just completed Pass-1 (the whole chapter 5) and start running as root.

While reading, suddenly a question jump into my mind. Will there be a step that my linux box will stop serve as router after I run it? That means I cannot read the online document as usual afterward.

This problem is solvable but I would like to know it first so that I can prepare for it.

Thanks for your advice

You won't reboot until you are done with the LFS base system. Until then, the machine you building LFS on will continue to function. Once you reboot to your new LFS system, then you will only have a basic system and won't be able to read on-line documentation until you install some additional packages. I always install wget, OpenSSH, and links/lynx after I finish the base system while I am still in the chroot and before I reboot. You could install any number of other packages like dhcpd or even X Windows before you reboot.
