can't boot /dev/hde7 need to make an init?

Built my lfs 6.1.1 using live-cd with book & live-cd
helper/hint. had to rebuild & take notes on the kernel during build to get rid of scsi errors..
now i booted and it stopped saying:
"kernel found and mounted ext2 file system,
can't mount root file system (33,7) only boots from [hda-d]supported, modify your init."
where in the book does it say anything about an init?
How do you make one. How do you boot from /dev/hde7 ?

P-III 500/640mb ram/Intel-440BX2/20g=winxp dev/hdc/
/dev/hdd dvd/ dev/hdb=ls-120 /dev/hda4=zip250/
promiseUltra66-pci for 80gig Linux partitions ie;hde

but i need help with making some kind of init to go past hda-d to hde. any takers?
i have spent weeks reading and searching the net, trying to find info for "LFS" making an init...
some one want2 post one?

I would concider plugging your hard drives into ide0 cable instead of ide1, then your hard drives would be hda and hdb, which would solve this issue.
the dvd and zip would be hdc and hdd.

if your windows isn't full, you could shrink thhat partition down to give yourself a 500 mb to 1 gb partition, to be /boot this would have the kernel bootloader working off hdc instead of hde.

The book section for the init is Chapter 6.5 module Init-tools 3.1
