Building LFS kernel for C3-2 doesn't work.
I've been trying to install an LFS installation on a EPIA ME6000 motherboard which has the C3 based processor. I tried building the kernel following the instructions in the LFS book (6.2), and set the processor to the correct one in the menu. I wasn't too sure about the other kernel settings in the menu, but tried not to change things from the defaults if in doubt.
Unfortunately on boot-up the kernel just falls over and restarts the machine. I decided to replace it with the kernel that came on the LiveCD (which is, I presume i386 based?), to see whether that booted, and to my pleasant surprise it did. It also gave all the useful information while booting, which my compiled one didn't. Is there a setting to turn this on?
Has anyone got a list of setting for the menuconfig for the kernel that'll work for an EPIA ME6000? Or is there something I'm doing drastically wrong.
I'm aiming for a set-up with functioning network stuff, ALSA sound, and running from flash memory.
Ta, Dave.
