Unhappy Boot problem

Hello all,

I have installed Gentoo successfully and have had it up and running for a while now. Today I had to move some stuff around so I had to shut off my Gentoo Linux box. Now when I go to turn on my Gentoo box I get to my LILO Boot Menu then it goes
"boot:
Loading gentoo..............." and it just locks up right there.
anyone have any ideas one what has happened? Or a quick fix possibly for this? Is there an easy resolution to this that I do not know of?
Again it just locks up after attempting to Load gentoo after the Lilo Boot menu.

Thanks

Have you tried your boot diskette? Tell me you have a boot diskette... (I don't knLinux ow much about gentoo but a boot diskette sounds like a good place to start. If you can't find one there is a distro called Zool linux, pretty complete console based distro on 1 floppy.)

What did you move around? (if you mean physically moving things in your place, was there anything else you did on your gentoo?).
Get a little linux distro like Guru3 said, and use it to obtain your /etc/lilo.conf file, and post it's contents here.

fixed

Hey people,

I fixed my problem. I loaded up off my gentoo LIve CD then chrooted into my shell then ran /sbin/lilo and that fixed..
It appeared as though I changed something to my kernel so i must have I guess. And it told me my video adapter module would not load after running /sbin/lilo so my video adapater module come unstuck from the kernel I think because I had to re-emerge xfree, thats the only thing I can think of that I really did that would have anything to do with my video module, because I did not re-install or recompile my video module.
I think I will make a backup bootdisk for sure!

Thanks for the responses.
